The Marangu Route for Kilimanjaro is considered the easiest and most accessible way to get up the mountain. The Marangu Route has prepared meals and huts for lodging all the way up the mountain.

Due to is relative ease, low cost, and short climbing time (five days), the Marangu Route is one of the most popular routes for climbing Kilimanjaro.

The Marangu Route starts out with a non-strenuous trek to the Kibo Hut.

From there, the route leads up to the crater rim of Mount Kilimanjaro.

This section of the Marangu Route features a steep trek to Gillman’s Point.

From Gillman’s Point, the Marangu Route runs along the crater rim then up to the summit of Kilimanjaro.

The descent route is the same trail as the ascent.
