Lemosho Route for Kilimanjaro

The Lemosho Route for Kilimanjaro is one of the least used routes for the mountain.

The beginning of the route goes through beautiful forest areas and offers great game viewing opportunities.

The Lemosho Glades are full of game such as buffalo and elephants.

As such, some groups are accompanied by an armed guide for the first part of the climb.

The Lemosho Route takes six days to climb.

The route follows the Shira Route, but stays south of it, and goes through the Shira Plateau.

On the third day, the Lemosho Route joins the Machame Route for the rest of the climb.
