Machame Route for Kilimanjaro

The Machame Route for Kilimanjaro is a steep climb. The paths are narrow and can become dangerous in wet months. It takes 6 days to climb to the top and while a difficult climb, the scenery is well worth the effort.

The Machame Route is considered the most scenic route for Kilimanjaro and features beautiful landscapes such as the Lava Tower.

On the Machame Route your gear is carried by porter and your meals are prepared for you, but accommodation is in tents as opposed to huts.
