Snorkeling in Lamu

Snorkeling in Lamu

Snorkeling is a popular activity in Lamu, and there is no shortage of snorkeling guides and tour operators to choose from.

The most common way to go snorkeling in Lamu is to hire a guide with a boat for a day or part of a day. Guides can be found along the coast in Lamu Town and Shela. Make sure to negotiate a price up front.

The guide will take you out in a dhow (the traditional wooden boats in Lamu) and bring you to an area where you can snorkel.

After snorkeling in Lamu, many guides will bring you to a beach for lunch or a snack. You can have your hotel prepare this for you before your departure.

For a snorkeling day trip in Lamu you can expect to pay around 8,000 KES for a boat for up to four people.
