Feeding giraffes in Nairobi is one of the highlights of any trip to the Kenyan capital.
Giraffe Centre, run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW), is a non-profit centre where visitors can feed three species of giraffes in Nairobi.
Giraffe Centre is situated on a large 60-acre plot of land in Nairobi.
After entering the centre, visitors can get feeding pellets from staff members to feed the giraffes.
There is a raised platform for feeding giraffes at full height as well as a ground level where giraffes lean down to eat the pellets out of visitors’ hands.
Giraffe Centre is not just limited to feeding giraffes in Nairobi.
There is also an education centre with information about giraffes in Kenya.
Additionally, there is a cafe, a gift shop that sells traditional African handicrafts, an outdoor craft market, a picnic area, and a turtle enclosure.
For a special treat, consider staying at the adjacent Giraffe Manor, a stately home luxury hotel where guests can mingle freely with the giraffes.
