The best time of year to visit Lamu in Kenya is from July to August and from mid December to early March.
Lamu is equatorial, and as such experiences a fairly even climate throughout the year.
July and August experience cooler temperatures than the rest of the year, but are still warm and pleasant.
Late March and April, on the other hand, are generally very hot times of year in Lamu.
There are often light rains in November and early December, but from mid December to early March the weather is clear, breezy, and hot (35-40 Celsius).
In April there are light rains, but generally the weather is pleasant, if a bit hot.
The only time that is not a good time of year to visit Lamu is from May to July.
This is the rainy season in Lamu and most resorts are closed for part or all of this time.
